Early registration is recommended as many courses have pre-course reading requirements.  Registration will close two days prior to the course start date.

Admission Requirement

For new students entering the program, please complete the Application form and submit along with an official transcript from your last graduate or undergraduate degree.  A confirmation letter will be sent to you confirming acceptance into the program upon receipt of this form.  This must be submitted to the Program Manager.

Course Exemptions

If you feel there are courses you can be exempt from, please include this information on your application form and include course descriptions.  A maximum of two courses from another institution may be accepted and only those of a graduate level will be considered.  If you are completing these courses to obtain your Clinical Membership with the OAMFT / AAMFT, some course exemptions might not be advisable.

Certification

Upon completion of the 6 courses, you must submit the Certification request form and the fee of $75 to the Office of Open Learning.  To qualify each course must be at a grade of 70% or higher.  For courses to be considered as a pass for the Association clinical membership, the final grade must be a minimum of 75%.

Registration Fees

Unless otherwise noted, the regular fee for each course is $675.  An early registration incentive fee of $575 applies to all registrations received (with payment) three weeks in advance of the course start.  Early registration is recommended as many courses have pre-course reading requirements in preparation for the course.  Registration closes two days prior to the course start date.  Payment must be received to confirm registration and will be processed approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the course and /or when the class is confirmed to run.

Fees are for tuition only. An Additional Fee of $50 for most courses will be charged for course binder materials. Course text books recommended for each course are an additional cost.

Course Withdrawal or Cancellation for Certification Course

  • A full refund, less a $50 administration fee, will be issued provided written notification of withdrawal is received 10 working days prior to the course start.
  • A $75 fee will be withheld with fewer than 10 days prior to course start.
  • Failure to attend does not constitute notification of withdrawal and will result in forfeiture of the entire course fee.
  • Written notification of withdrawal and the original income tax receipt must be received by the Office of Open Learning in order for a refund of any type to be issued.
  • The Office of Open Learning reserves the right to cancel a course offering due to low enrolment. If a course is cancelled, the Office of Open Learning is responsible for refunding only the tuition payment.  
  • If a class is cancelled due to instructor illness or inclement weather, an alternate date will be selected based on instructor and room availability.
